“An American in Paris”
AmiciMusic presents “An American in Paris” with Amanda Horton, soprano, Roberto Flores, baritone, and Daniel Weiser, piano. This program features music by American composers who traveled in France, including Aaron Copland, Cole Porter, and George Gershwin. Ms. Horton has sung several leading roles with Asheville Lyric Opera and has appeared as a soloist with the Asheville Symphony Chorus, the Carolina Concert Choir, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, She performed as a Young Artist with Opera Santa Barbara and holds opera performance degrees from Furman University and Shenandoah Conservatory. Mr. Flores has performed Musical Theatre, Oratorio and Opera throughout the South East and Europe. Roberto has been a soloist with the Asheville Symphony, performs regularly with the Asheville Lyric Opera, and is a member of PASTYME, the premiere acapella ensemble of the western Carolina’s. Flores has studied in association with the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Germany, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in Virginia. This concert can be seen on:
