SUNDAY, JAN. 9 at 3:00—“JEWISH BROADWAY” at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation
We start the New Year off with a sequel to one of our favorite concerts of 2021, “Broadway Violin.” In this toe-tapping program, Tim Schwarz, violin, and Daniel Weiser, piano/Artistic Director will perform all new fantastic arrangements of great Broadway songs, all by Jewish composers from the Golden Years (1920s-1940s). Tap your feet and hum along to music by Irving Berlin (“Cheek to Cheek,” “Blue Skies”); Jerome Kern (“All the Things You Are”, “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes”); Harold Arlen (“Over the Rainbow,” “It’s Only a Paper Moon”) plus a fun arrangement of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.” Take a wonderful trip down memory lane to a time when the great Jewish songwriters ruled Broadway! This program is made possible with a generous grant from the Peggy and Yale Gordon Trust.
