This program features a fantastic tenor, Dr. Jamison Walker, who has performed in recital, opera, symphonic, and academic settings, nationally and internationally across the United States and in Europe and Asia.   Originally a lyric tenor who sang many of the leading roles in Mozart and Rossini operas, Walker has evolved towards a more dramatic bent and has recently sung Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Boheme, Canio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Radamess in Verdi’s Aida and even Parsifal in Wagner’s Parsifal.    Before completing his education, Mr. Walker served as a Counterintelligence Agent in the U. S. Army. He performed in over 400 venues as soloist for the Signal Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon with the Army Band. After completing a Vocal Performance degree at Stetson University, Mr. Walker was awarded a graduate assistantship in opera and studio voice at Florida State University, obtaining a Master of Music and a Doctor of Music in vocal performance. D. Walker has served on the faculties of Troy University, Stetson University, The Kaiwen School in Beijing, China, and has joined the Faculty of James Madison University in the fall of 2018 as an Assistant Professor of Voice.

This concert will include songs by Beethoven, Liszt, and Strauss along with some great Spirituals, Neopolitan songs, and favorite hits from Broadway
