“THE FOLK CELLO”
Great Music for Cello and Piano with Folk Influences

Works by Grieg, Piazzolla, Popper, and Tsintsadze

July 6-7, 2024

This program features the wonderful South African cellist Jacques Pierre Malan in a thrilling program highlighting the folk influences in some fantastic music for cello and piano.  Pianist and Artistic Director Daniel Weiser will join Malan to perform the passionate Cello Sonata by Edvard Grieg filled with Norwegian melodies; Piazzolla’s amazing Le Grand Tango; and the little known, but very exciting, Five Pieces on Georgian Folk Themes by Sulkhan Tsintsadze.     You will not want to miss this very exciting concert!  We will offer two different dates at our Guilford home.
