“BROADWAY VIOLIN”
Great Broadway hits for violin and piano

Fantastic music by Gershwin, Arlen, Kern, Bernstein, Sondheim, Webber, and more

September 22, 2024

This thrilling program explores the history of Broadway songs from the 1920s to the 1980s.  Artistic Director and pianist Daniel Weiser will be joined by violinist Timothy Schwarz to perform some fantastic arrangements of your favorite Broadway songs by Gershwin, Rodgers, Sondheim, Bernstein, Webber and more including “The Man I Love,” Over the Rainbow,” “Send in the Clowns,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” and many more.   Schwarz and Weiser were the 1996 U.S. Artistic Ambassadors which resulted in a two month tour of the Middle East and Southeast Asia, where they performed great American music in eleven different countries.  Formerly known as the Upper Valley Duo, they always bring incredible passion, virtuosity, and excitement to all their programs.

Check out a video of the Duo performing Heifitz’s arrangement of tunes from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess:
