Please join us for a very special vocal program dedicated to some beautiful American Art Songs. Rebekkah Hilgraves is an award-winning soprano who has sung with numerous opera companies and soloed with several orchestras. She also is the owner/director of RadHaus Studios, which has provided so many fantastic Livestream videos from the White Horse during the pandemic. This program will feature some wonderful American songs by Amy Beach, Samuel Barber, Aaron Copland, and more. From Beach’s high Romantic “Browning Songs” to Barber’s epic, yet nostalgic “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” and his poignant “Hermit Songs” to Copland’s folk settings of American tunes—this is music that reveals the flowering of American composition at the turn of the 20th century and an ability to capture the lyrical beauty of life through poetry and song. Hope you can join us at one of the venues below!
