“JEWISH BROADWAY”
Great Broadway Songs by Jewish Composers

Songs from the Jewish Golden Age:
Berlin, Kern, Arlen, & Gershwin

January 5, 2022

We start the New Year off with a sequel to one of our favorite concerts of 2021, “Broadway Violin.”  In this toe-tapping program, Tim Schwarz, violin, and Daniel Weiser, piano/Artistic Director will perform all new fantastic arrangements of great Broadway songs, all by Jewish composers from the Golden Years (1920s-1940s).   Tap your feet and hum along to music by Irving Berlin (“Cheek to Cheek,” “Blue Skies”);  Jerome Kern (“All the Things You Are”, “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes”);  Cole Porter (“Begin the Beguine,” “Just One of those Things”);  and George Gershwin (“Love is Here to Stay,” “S’Wonderful”).   Take a wonderful trip down memory lane to a time when the great Jewish songwriters ruled Broadway!

Check out this video of Richard Rodgers’ song, “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from Carousel with Tim and Dan performing on a previous concert:

Beth Tikvah Synagogue
1459 Pine Ridge Road, Naples, FL

After a one year hiatus due to Covid, we return to the Beth Tikvah Synagogue in Naples, where we have performed several times in the past.  Join us in this very welcoming Synagogue to celebrate the coming of what has to be a much better year with a really fun and educational program that reveals the story of the early great Broadway songwriters, most of whom were either Jewish immigrants themselves or first generation Jews who would ultimately help to produce the quintessentially American sound of Broadway.

This is a free program made possible with a generous gift by Dr. and Mrs. Myles Samotin.

Because of limited seating capacity, you do have to register for the event at the following link:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/jewish-broadway-music-tickets-223651015207

If you cannot come in person, they will also be Livestreaming this concert at:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82594071418?pwd=OUYxaG13TlZKSzVGMXVMZENWWkVRZz09#success
