“FLUTE FUGUE TANGO”
Duos for flute & piano from Bach to Tango

Works by Bach, Schnittke, Piazzolla, Bolling, and more

December 5, 2020

Please join fantastic flautist Lea Kibler and pianist/Artistic Director Daniel Weiser in this thrilling concert showcasing the contrapuntal music of Bach and his strong influence on several popular, contemporary composers, including Astor Piazzolla and Claude Bolling.  We will perform the wonderful E Flat Flute Sonata by Bach and follow that with a baroque-inspired work by Alfred Schnittke, Piazzolla’s “Fuga Misterio”, Paul Schoenfield’s “Tango”, a tango and waltz by Ukranian-born Taras Yachshenko, a Mexican lullaby by Samuel Zyman, and three fugal movements by jazz crossover composer Claude Bolling.  This concert promises to be a really fun and wild ride.  Hope you can be there!
