“JAZZICAL”
Jazz and Classical Combined

A Great Program Featuring the Crossover Music of Claude Bolling

August 27, 2021

This will be a very unique program of fantastic crossover music uniting the worlds of Classical and Jazz.   Flutist Novoa Champion and pianist/Art. Dir. Daniel Weiser will perform several movements from the phenomenal Second Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano by the wonderful French jazz pianist and composer, Claude Bolling.   Bolling was one of the first to experiment in the fusion of these two musical idioms and produced a string of terrific crossover albums with Jean-Pierre Rampal, Yo-Yo Ma, Pinchas Zuckerman, and more in the 1970’s and 1980’s.  His music is still fresh and innovative today—true chamber music, but with a jazz flair!  Mr. Champion will also sing a few French cabaret songs as well.  You won’t want to miss this show!  It’s a great way to finish the summer.

You must be vaccinated to attend this concert and masks are required.

Church of the Redeemer
5603 N Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21210

Due to the rise of Covid cases and the rather small space in our House, we have decided to move this concert to a wonderful new location that we hope can be a more regular concert venue in the future.  This is the Church of the Redeemer, a beautiful Church at the corner of Charles and Melrose, just north of Northern Parkway.  Please use the entrance on Melrose (not Charles) as this will lead you to the parking lot and the main Church entrance.  There will be a contribution basket at the entrance with a suggested donation of $15 for adults and free for children under 18.  If you might be able to make your donation in advance by clicking on the yellow Donate button below, it would be greatly appreciated.  You do not need to have a PayPal account.  Just input amount on the first screen and then click the bottom oval that says “Donate with a Debit or Credit Card.”  Thank you for supporting our wonderful musicians.

We hope you can join us for this fantastic program
