“JEWISH JAZZ”

Exciting Interconnections between Klezmer-style music and early American Jazz

March 9, 2025

Join AmiciMusic for our celebrated “JEWISH JAZZ” program featuring the wonderful Seth Kibel on clarinet and Artistic Director Daniel Weiser on piano.  We will perform some exciting Klezmer-influenced music by Michele Magnani, Lev Kogan, Bela Kovacs, and Simon Sargon and make intriguing connections between the Jewish sound and early American Jazz, especially in the music of Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw.  Kibel is a phenomenal talent who has been voted best musician in the Baltimore/DC area for several years.  We are excited to be a part of the Savannah Jewish Cultural Arts Festival in our first year in the area.

Here is a short clip of Seth and me performing “If I Were a Rich Man” from Fiddler on the Roof at a recent show:

We are thrilled to do our first program at the Jewish Educational Alliance at 5111 Abercorn St. as part of the Savannah Jewish Cultural Arts Festival (https://www.savj.org/sjcaf).  This is a free concert but donations are gratefully accepted at the link above where you can also find out about all the events at this two week festival, including movies, cooking classes, lectures, and more.  We are also excited to combine our concert with a small art exhibition featuring paintings and other works by both my father, the late Dr. Milton Weiser, and my 19 year-old daughter, Rose Weiser—a wonderful way to connect three generations of our family through art and music.
