“JEWISH JAZZ II”

The interconnections between Klezmer and Jazz

January 18-January 21, 2018

Steve Loew, clarinet, returns to Baltimore to join pianist/Artistic Daniel Weiser for a sequel to their original “JEWISH JAZZ” program. This concert includes all new music from the 1920’s-1940’s that highlight some important Klezmer influences on the jazz instrumentalists and composers of this period, many of whom were Jewish.  This program features some Yiddish Swing, works by Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, and Harold Arlen, plus a great arrangement of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.”  Loew and Weiser have performed around the world and put on a show that is second to none.   You will not want to miss this!
