Music & Meaning--An exiting new Concert Series at the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation

The first of our new concert series at BHC featuring powerful works showing the influence of Jewish music by Ravel, Bloch, Mendelssohn & more

May 2, 2019

The exciting inaugural concert in a new concert series featuring AmiciMusic called “MUSIC and MEANING” that is generously sponsored by the Peggy and Yale Gordon Trust.  Our first program, entitled “JEWISH JOURNEY”, features some powerful “classical” works with a distinctly Jewish sound and flavor that will highlight the important history of Jewish composers and their influence.   The program, which takes place on Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), includes music by Mendelssohn, Ravel, Bloch, Bernstein, and an original trio called “In Memorium” by Francis and Emmanuel Borowsky.   The performers include the Borowsky siblings on cello and violin as well as their mother, cellist Cecylia Barczyk, cantor Ben Ellerin, and pianist/Artistic Director Daniel Weiser.  This will be a free program with donations gratefully accepted to help us continue this series for many years to come.  Please spread the word to all your friends and neighbors.  The concerts will all take place in the beautiful Dalsheimer Auditorium at BHC.

Enjoy a performance of Bloch’s powerful “Nigun” with Emmanuel Borowsky and Daniel Weiser
