“MUSIC of TRANSFORMATION”
A Celebration of S'lichot

Music of transformation and reflection
to help usher in the High Holy Days

September 21, 2019

Join us for this FREE concert, the third program in our MUSIC and MEANING series at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation.  This concert, entitled “MUSIC and TRANSFORMATION” will precede the special S’licoth Saturday evening Services at BHC and will take place in the Sanctuary itself.  Music will begin at 7:30pm (light hors d’oeuvres available just prior to the concert) and will last about an hour.  There will then be a short 15 minute break in which audience members are free to leave or they can stay for a short and meditative 45 minute Service following the concert that will also contain great music with the Borowsky siblings as well as a quartet of singers.  This series is made possible by funds from the Peggy and Yale Gordon Foundation

Cantor Ben Ellerin will join the Borowsky siblings on violin and cello and myself on piano for this concert highlighting music that transforms and modulates.  We will do pieces with Theme and Variations by Mozart and Haydn, a powerful Kodaly duo for violin and cello, a Dvorak trio transforming some folk melodies, two versions of the Four Seasons by both Vivaldi and Piazzolla, and more.   Join us for this wonderfully reflective and transformative program!

This is a FREE concert open to everyone.   Come for the concert and stay for a short reflective Service or you can also just come to the concert and leave before the Service begins.  This concert will take place in the Sanctuary of the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, not in the Dalsheimer Auditorium where the past two concerts in this series have occurred.  Just park in parking lot, enter the building, and walk all the way to the end of the long corridor to find the Sanctuary!   Hope to see you there.
