“Violin Virtuoso”

Roseminna Watson, violin & Daniel Weiser, piano

May 11 & 13, 2017

A program of great music for violin and piano featuring a phenomenal young violinist coming up from Austin, TX.   I first met Rosey (as she is known) as a child prodigy in Hanover, NH and we performed together several times when she was only a teenager.  She has since studied music at Yale, San Francisco Conservatory, and SUNY at Stony Brook, became first violinist of the Aiana String Quartet that won a prize at the prestigious Coleman International Chamber Music Competition, and ultimately settled in Austin, where the quartet was in residency at U.T Austin. On this concert, we will perform the lush and incredibly beautiful Violin Sonata by Gabriel Faure as well as an early Sonata by Beethoven and short works by Kreisler and Gershwin.
