Jonathan Ross, Baritone

Jonathan Ross received his BM in Vocal performance from James Madison University and his MM in Opera Performance from Binghamton University. As a resident artist with the Tri-Cities Opera he performed the roles of Guglielmo (Cosi Fan Tutte), Papageno (The Magic Flute), The Wolf/Woodsman (Little Red Riding Hood), Melchoir (Amahl and the Night Visitors). With Asheville Lyric Opera, Mr. Ross has performed the roles of Papageno (The Magic Flute), Dancairo (Carmen), Melchoir (Amahl), Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro),  Henry in the premiere of David Conte’s Gift of the Magi, and most recently, Leporello (Don Giovanni).

Jonathan has also performed leading roles with the Crested Butte Music Festival and Opera Creations and as a soloist with the Asheville Symphony, Asheville Symphony Chorus and Brevard College among other distinguished local organizations. Currently he is the bass section leader at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. Besides music, Jonathan is an instructor at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in the Digital Media Technologies program, and a freelance designer, videographer and web developer.
