Will Peebles, Bassoon

Will Peebles is Professor of Bassoon at Western Carolina University, where he also teaches music theory and  world music.  He served as Director of the School of Music from 2005-2014, and established the Low Tech (gamelan) ensemble in 1999.  Will earned his masters and doctoral degrees at Michigan State University, where he studied with Edgar Kirk, Richard Beene, and Robert Williams.  He has played with the Asheville (NC) Symphony since 1992.  He was contrabassoonist for the Grand Rapids (MI) Symphony from 1983-1992 and the Savannah (GA) Symphony from 1992-2003.
